The Story Behind A&R Media Labs
Some partnerships are born in boardrooms, but ours started in the bustling corridors of MES Engineering College, Kuttipuram, back in our early twenties.
Back then , Ashar Ameer was a Computer Engineering student. Riaz K Mohammed was studying Mechanical Engineering. Anyone familiar with engineering college life in Kerala knows the legendary friendly rivalries — and occasional scuffles — between these two departments. We were no exception. We stood at opposite ends, each proudly defending our branch, more often in spirited confrontations than in casual conversations., never imagining we’d one day stand side by side.
After college, life took us down separate paths.
Riaz K Mohammed
built a thriving business empire — establishing tyre dealerships, importing tyre components, and expanding into related automotive fields. His leadership extended beyond business; he entered public service, becoming an elected representative of Maradu Municipality and currently serving as Standing Committee Chairman (2023–25).
Ashar Ameer
Launched a successful Printing Press abroad , later branching into outdoor Publicity ,Various Marketing Product Assignments, hospitality, and other Ventures, backed by two event Management firms in his portfolio
Riaz K Mohammed

Fate intervened one evening over a casual tea. A mutual friend — Salam Bukhari, from the film industry — began narrating a story idea. Riaz was instantly captivated. His connection to cinema wasn’t new ; he had acted in a film years earlier . Ashar, however, had no intention of venturing into movie production at the time . In fact, our first discussions were filled with objections, debates, and counterarguments. The turning point came when Riaz made one heartfelt condition:
"If you are there, then only will I do the project."
And so, what began as a chance conversation at a tea table transformed into A&R Media Labs Production House — a partnership forged from old rivalries, strengthened by entrepreneurial grit, and now united by a shared passion for storytelling
